Born in Viganello in 1955, he lives and works in Lugano Montebre.
After receiving his high school diploma in graphic art, he enrolled in the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1984.

Marco Prati’s artistic career, marked by his constant quest to innovate, ranges from figurative expressionism in 1982, with xylography and oil, to a personalized futuristic vision similar to Boccioni in the 1990s, through sculpture.

Starting in 1997, a new existential awareness entered Marco Prati’s creations that led him to progressively abandon expressive rigidity.

The artist’s latest works reveal the results of his inner metamorphosis. Human and non-human aspects are synthesized, merged and harmonized in well-defined, clear, clean and unambiguous lines and masses. One of his works is on display in the Brè Artistic Furnishings section at the Lugano Cultural Center, LAC Lugano Contemporary Arts. Art exhibits in Lugano.
